Karlene’s “English challenged” mother explained to us why the cable went out at her house…
The cable guy said squirrels ate through the cable, but I think it was shitmunks. We have so many shitmunks around here this year.
From here on, chipmunks will be called shitmunks at our house.

This may become problematic for me – I love the name, and – bonus can easily generate the proper accent for its use – growing up speaking Spanish helps me understand the physical impossibility of pronouncing “ch” or putting “t” and “m” together). However!! The children are way into Alvin and the Chipmunks. Therefore I. must. be. proper. sniffle

The ones here are definitely SHITmunks as they tunnel into our cellar EVERY year in a new place. Cellar is stone-wall and they can always find a place to get in.
